2026 SPECIAL OFFER for COACHES!
The Pacific Association Race Walk Committee wants youth coaches to include race walkers. We will award $100 each to the first three (3) Pacific Association youth coaches who complete both activities below:
1.Pass the online USATF Race Walk Coaching Education by November 2025, and
2.Have at least one athlete Finish (not DQ’d) at any judged race walk event.

Sunday, Dec 28, 2025 – 1,500-Meter Race Walk at Holiday Invitational Indoor Track Meet, Reno, NV
A 1,500-meter Race Walk will be conducted with the USATF-Pacific Association Holiday Invitational Indoor Track Meet at Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4065 South Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89502. A 1,500-meter Indoor Race Walk will be conducted on the Sunday of the Martin Luther King Day holiday weekend with the MLK Invitational Indoor Track Meet at Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4065 South Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89502. Saturday, Jan 31, 2026 – One Mile Indoor Race Walk Championship, Reno, NV
A One Mile Race Walk Championship will be conducted on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the USA Track and Field Pacific Association Championship Indoor Track Meet at Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4065 South Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89502. For High School, Open, and Masters athletes. (Concurrent with the USATF West and Northwest Masters Regions Indoor Track & Field Championships which are Masters-Only meets.) Sunday, Feb 15, 2026 (Presidents Day Weekend) – Simultaneous 1,500-Meter & 3,000-Meter Indoor Race Walks Championship, Reno, NV
Concurrent 1,500-meter and 3,000-meter Indoor Race Walks will be conducted at the USA Track and Field Pacific Association President’s Invite Indoor Track Meet at Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4065 South Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89502. For Youth, High School, Open, and Masters Athletes. Note that the two races are simultaneous; each will start at the same time from a different area of the track. Racewalkers may register for only one distance; athletes in 3,000-meter race must expect to finish within 30 minutes. This is a great opportunity to gain experience racing on an indoor track prior to the USATF Indoor Championships. Deadline to register is Jan 25. Saturday, Feb 21, 2026 – 1,500-Meter Race Walk Championship, Berkeley, CA
A 1,500-Meter Race Walk Championship will be conducted on the track at Edwards Stadium at the University of California, 2223 Fulton St, Berkeley, CA 95704, before the California Golden Bears All-Comers Track & Field Meet. Separate Women’s and Men’s races, one race immediately following the other.
Saturday, Mar 21, 2026 – 3,000-Meter Race Walk Championship, Berkeley, CA
A 3,000-Meter Race Walk Championship will be conducted on the track at Edwards Stadium at the University of California, 2223 Fulton St, Berkeley, CA 95704, before the Cal Opener Track & Field Meet. One combined race for women and men.
Sunday, June 7, 2026 – 1,500-Meter Race Walk & 5,000-Meter Race Walk Championship, Rancho Cordova, CA
Concurrent 1,500-meter and 5,000-meter race walks will be part of the Golden West Invitational Track & Field Meet in conjunction with the USATF Pacific Association Masters Track & Field Meet at Rancho Cordova High School, 2239 Chase Dr, Rancho Cordova, CA 95670 (Sacramento area). The 5,000-meter event is the Pacific Association Championship. All registrants race together in one combined event.
Sunday, Sep/Oct tbd, 2026 – 10-Kilometer Race Walk, with concurrent 5,000-Meter Race Walk, followed by 1,000-Meter and 3,000-Meter Power Walks, Carmichael, CA
If there is sufficient interest, Sierra Race Walkers is considering hosting a 10-Kilometer Race Walk concurrent with a 5,000-Meter Race Walk. A 1,000-Meter Power Walk and concurrent 3,000-Meter Power Walk could follow. [Race walkers must be judged separately from power walkers, so we can’t combine all the races.] Let us know what appeals to you. Races would be held on the certified one-kilometer loop course at William B. Pond Park in Carmichael, California (Sacramento area).

The 2025 Season consisted of the following races in Reno, NV, Berkeley, CA, and Rancho Cordova, CA: two 1,500-Meter, One Mile, two 3,000-Meter, and 5,000-Meter.
Saturday, Feb 1, 2025 – 1,500-Meter Indoor Race Walk Championship, Reno, NV
A 1,500-meter Race Walk Championship was conducted with the USATF-Pacific Association Indoor Track Championship Meet, which was held on a single day, on Saturday, February 1, at Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4065 South Virginia Street, Reno, Nevada. This was also a Youth, Open & Masters meet.

Sunday, Feb 16, 2025 (Presidents Day Weekend) – 1,500-Meter Indoor Race Walk, Reno, NV
A 1,500-meter Indoor Race Walk was part of the USATF-Pacific Association – hosted “Presidents Invitational” indoor track meet on Sunday, February 16, at Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4065 South Virginia Street, Reno, Nevada. This was a Youth, Open & Masters meet. The race walk was scheduled for 2:31pm.

Saturday, Feb 22, 2025 – One Mile Race Walk Championship, Berkeley, CA
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association One Mile Race Walk Championship was conducted on Saturday, February 22, at 9:30 a.m. on the track at Edwards Stadium at the University of California in Berkeley, CA, before the California Golden Bears All-Comers Track & Field Meet. Thirty athletes registered for separate Women’s and Men’s races, one race immediately following the other.

Attend a Race Walk Clinic with Coach Susan Armenta, assisted by Olympian Robyn Stevens, sponsored by the Pacific Association USA Track & Field Racewalk Committee. Saturday, May 11, 2025 – 3,000-Meter PRACTICE Race Walk, Vacaville, CA
A 3,000-Meter PRACTICE Race Walk will be held on Sunday, May 11, at 9 a.m. on the track at Al Patch Park, 1750 California Drive, Vacaville, CA 95687. This event is the day after the RACE WALK CLINIC and is unsanctioned, so records are not possible. USATF-Certified Officials and Judges will provide feedback. Open to all; novices welcome. No entry form; fee is included in RW Clinic registration; others please bring $5.
Sunday, June 8, 2025 – 5,000-Meter Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 5,000-Meter Race Walk Championship was held on Sunday, June 8, as part of the Golden West Invitational Track & Field Meet in conjunction with the USATF Pacific Association Masters Track & Field Meet at Rancho Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, CA (Sacramento area). Open and Masters Women and Men race together in one combined event.

Pacific Association Race Walks in 2024
Schedule and Results of Pacific Association Championship Race Walks
The 2024 Championship Race Walk season consists of the following races: 1,500 Meter, One Mile, 3,000 Meter, 5,000 Meter, and 10 Kilometer. In addition, a 1,500 Meter Indoor was held in Reno, NV.
Saturday, Feb 3, 2024 – 1,500 Meter Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 1,500-meter Race Walk Championship was the first race of the 2024 season. The event was conducted on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in two separate races – 9:30am Women, followed by 9:50am Men – before the Cal All-Comers #1 Track Meet, in Berkeley, CA. There was no Penalty Zone. The weather was in the low-50’s with overcast skies.

Saturday, Feb 17, 2024 – One Mile Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association One Mile Race Walk Championship was to have been conducted on Saturday, February 17, at 9:30am, on the track at Edwards Stadium at the University of California in Berkeley, CA, before the California Golden Bears All-Comers #2 Track & Field Meet.
Unfortunately, the organizers cancelled all events due to extreme weather conditions.
Saturday, Mar 2, 2024 – 3,000 Meter Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 3,000-meter Race Walk Championship was conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2024, in one combined race for Men and Women, starting at 10 a.m. before the Cal Season Opener Track Meet in Berkeley, CA. There was no Penalty Zone. The weather was in the mid-40’s with light rain showers.

Saturday, June 1, 2024 – 5,000 Meter Race Walk Championship
The USA Track and Field Pacific Association 5,000-meter Race Walk Championship was held on Saturday, June 1, combined with the Golden West Invitational Track & Field Meet at Cordova High School in Rancho Cordova, CA (Sacramento area). Women and Men raced together in one combined event.

Saturday, Oct 5, 10K Race Walk Championship (with 1K Power Walk & 1K Run)
On Saturday, October 5, the Pacific Association conducted the 10-kilometer Race Walk Championship. After the race walk, there was a 1-km Power Walk, followed by a 1-km (1,000 Meters) Run. All races were on a newly-certified 1-km out-and-back road course (see map link below) in front of Robla Community Park at 625 Bell Road, Sacramento, CA.
