Annual Bob Shor Youth Cross Country Grand Prix
The Pacific Association Youth Committee invites all youth athletes to participate in the 2025 Bob Shor Youth Cross Country Grand Prix.
A Grand Prix competition is a series of races where runners accumulate points over multiple events to determine overall standings. Athletes will earn points for each Top 10 finish in competitions included in the Grand Prix series. Ten points will be awarded for first place, nine points for second, eight points for third, down to one point awarded for a tenth place finish. Each youth and gender division will have a separate Grand Prix competition. Top 5 finishers in each youth and gender divisions will receive awards at the end of the season.
For 2025, there is no longer a need to register for the Bob Shor Youth Cross Country Grand Prix – but you MUST be a 2025 USATF member at the time of the race in order to receive points! (Non-USATF athletes in an event will NOT displace USATF members. The top 10 USATF member finishers will be awarded points, regardless of overall place.) The number of Grand Prix eligible events varies from year to year, so the Pacific Association Youth Executive
Committee has initiated the following number of event Grand Prix scoring rule:
– If there are 3 Grand Prix meets, points from all 3 meets will be used to determine overall standings
– If there are 4 Grand Prix meets, points from best 3 out of the 4 meets will be used to determine overall standings
– If 5 Grand Prix meets, points from best 4 out of the 5 meets will be used to determine overall standings
– For 6 or more Grand Prix meets, the points from best 5 meets will be used to determine overall standings
Following the final regular season Grand Prix eligible meet, points will be tallied for each athlete. The athletes who have earned the most points in each youth and gender division will be recognized with awards at the Pacific Association Youth Cross Country Championships on November 23, 2025.
REMEMBER – No registration is required for participation in the Bob Shor Youth Cross Country Grand Prix –BUT you MUST have a valid 2025 USATF membership at the time of the event for points to be awarded for that event.

All athletes must be age verified NO LATER THAN November 19, 2025 to enter the Pacific Association Youth Cross Country Championship November 23, 2025 at Hayward HS.
